The job

Easy money.
Eight hours.
One flashlight.

You took the night shift at the Ashcombe Museum. Walk the halls. Keep every exhibit in its place. Watch for break-ins. Clock out at six.

What nobody told you: the museum is haunted, and every night it gets worse. The caveman isn't where you left him. The dinosaur skeleton has turned its head. Something is jogging down the hallway in the dark.

You have a flashlight, a few places to hide, and a strange cloak that can make you invisible. Survive until 6 AM.

Shift timeline

10:00 PM

Night one

  1. Clock in.

The doors lock behind you. The phone on the desk rings once. "If something in there looks like it moved, don't stare at it. Just keep walking."

  2. The caveman has moved.

Third patrol of the Hall of Ancient Peoples. You're sure he was facing the fire. He's facing the door now. He's facing you.

  3. The lights die.

The breakers trip. Red emergency lamps. Somewhere down the east wing, bare feet on marble. Running. Getting closer.

  4. The skeleton turned its head.

It's been on that plinth for a hundred years. Tonight the skull is looking straight at the security office. You hear bone scraping on stone.

  5. Survive.

Make it to dawn and the doors open. Fail, and the museum gets a new exhibit: navy wool, brass torch, posed mid-scream.

Meet what hunts you

They come out
when the lights go off.

Hover over a case to look inside. On a phone, tap. You've been warned.

Specimen 01

The Children

Short ones and tall ones, with faces twisted into something that isn't a face any more. They wander the halls together. They freeze when your light finds them. Count them. Then count them again.

  • Hunt in groups
  • Freeze in the light
  • Never alone
The Jogger's face, glowing white eyes and a gaping mouth

Look closer

Specimen 02

The Jogger

Skin stretched over bone. White eyes that glow in the dark. A smile far too wide for its face. You hear the breathing first, then the footsteps. It runs. Fast.

  • Hears you run
  • Faster than you
  • Don't look back
The Crawler hanging upside down, a human face full of teeth and spider legs

Look closer

Specimen 03

The Crawler

A man's face on something with far too many legs. It hangs from the ceilings and creeps along the walls. It's blind. It hunts by sound. Walk softly.

  • Walls and ceilings
  • Hunts by sound
  • Drops without warning

Specimen 04

The Exhibits

The caveman by the fire. The dinosaur skeleton in the Main Hall. The bronze naturalist on his bench. They only move when nobody is looking, and every night they're a little closer.

  • Move when unseen
  • Closer every night
  • Never turn your back

Survival tools

You can't fight them.
You can only last.

The flashlight

Your only light. It keeps the Children frozen and shows you what's waiting in the dark. But the batteries drain, and the dark is when they come.

Battery

Hiding spots

Lockers. Display cases. Under the desks. Get in, hold your breath, and listen to it walk right past. Don't hide in the same place twice.

Lockers · Display cases · Under desks

The Phase cloak

A strange cloak, chained in a reliquary in the basement. Catalogued in 1913, and nobody can say what it is made of. Wear it and you fade out of the world: unseen, unheard, until the field starts to fail.

Shield

Features

Every night,
the museum learns.

01

First-person only

No third-person safety net. Just your eyes, your torch and your breathing.

02

Realistic graphics

A fully built museum: marble halls, dioramas, a flooded wing and a basement you don't want to go down to.

03

Timed nightly events

Phones ring. Breakers trip. Doors open by themselves. Right on schedule, every night.

04

Exhibits that change

Statues shift. Skeletons turn. What was behind glass last night is in the corridor tonight.

05

Seven nights, harder each

More hunters, longer hunts, fewer lights. Nobody has made it to night seven.

06

Built for headphones
